Kescrg

Welcome to Kescrg – a group of volunteers who meet for a weekend once a month or so to work on various Canal restoration and maintenance projects in the UK.

The work we undertake includes manual digging with spade, mattock and wheelbarrow; brickwork and stonework; excavator and dumper operation; concrete and steelwork; scrub removal and tree maintenance – and many other skilled and not so skilled tasks.

Special Feature: Inglesham

Between 2015 and 2019 Kescrg spent 15 weekends and 3 week-long summer camps contributing to the restoration of Inglesham Lock in Lechlade. This is the gateway to the Cotswolds Canal as it leaves the Thames on its journey to the Severn, and the lock required digging out and substantial rebuilding.

Special Feature: Whitehouses Pumping Station

Between 2010 and 2014 Kescrg spent several weekends and 2 week-long summer camps investigating the remains of Whitehouses Pumping Station on the Grand Union Wendover Arm, excavating and rebuilding the pump outfall.
